This delightful 60-year-old woman was having trouble seeing peripherally and didn’t like her lower eyelid bags. She met with Dr. Garrett Griffin to discuss her options. Her eyebrows were quite low, with asymmetric skin folds of the upper eyelids. For the brow and upper eyelids, she underwent a temporal brow lift and upper blepharoplasty.
- Lower eyelid bags are usually caused by the fat around the eyeball pooching forward. When this fat is removed, it can emphasize upper cheek hollowness, and the skin can get more wrinkly because it is no longer stretched by the bulging fat.
- To give her the best result, the excess lower eyelid fat was removed, fat was grafted from the abdomen to the upper cheeks to prevent a hollow look, and the lower eyelid skin was tightened with CO2 laser.
After surgery, she can see better, and we can see that she looks more youthful and alert. She had quite a bit of facial asymmetry before surgery which has been improved as well. She is thrilled with her results!
